Rimehaven

A working harbour below a glacial wall, with ribbed roofs, sheltered workshops and an amber beacon guiding boats along the frozen shore.

Rimehaven is built at the meeting of glacier and water. Ribbed roofs shed snow above workshops and quays, while a three-part amber beacon helps crews read the harbour through coastal haze. The waterfront is a place of maintenance and exchange as much as arrival.

The frozen-coast listeners in One Vibration bring the signal out to the shore. The city’s working lore follows them back to the harbour, where an open workshop can become a listening room after a shift. Its connection to other ice regions remains uncharted; the coast has its own entry for now.

Harbour crews rebuilt the amber beacon from three incompatible salvage lamps. Each section is maintained by a different quay workshop, so an outage starts an argument before it starts a repair. Their shared promise is that no boat is charged merely for finding shelter.

The quayside exchange trades cold-cured cable, weatherproof housings and beacon lenses for heater cores and gasket stock. Freight crews prefer quick patch work; the harbour workshop insists on an inspection before releasing a vessel. A rushed departure can leave somebody else searching the shore at night.

People and customs

Coastal listener communities work around broad quays, sheltered repair spaces and weatherproof harbour rooms.

Visitors leave the working quay clear and check with harbour crews before walking onto shore ice. A beacon is a guide, not proof that a route is safe.
