Tideharbour
A reef settlement of shell towers, tidal terraces and sheltered waterways, where the evening signal travels from quay to quay.
Tideharbour grows along a living reef. Its houses step down towards sheltered water, and the curved civic tower gives boat crews a landmark through spray and darkness. The lowest walkways belong to the tide; nobody mistakes a clear path at dusk for a promise at dawn.
The night gathering in One Vibration becomes the first chart entry for this coast. Local listeners carry the rhythm between waterside courts and floating platforms. The city has a place in the Dreadnauts’ story through that shared transmission; a visit by the full band is still a story to tell.
The harbour grew around a pilot cooperative that kept channels open when larger carriers stopped calling. A pilot’s route book is lent with a name attached: if a reef marker moves, the next crew must hear about it before the next tide. The cooperative and the shore traders disagree over how much traffic the reef can bear.
Reef Market weighs cargo on floating platforms. Imported metal fasteners and clean filter mesh keep the pumps alive; exported fibre comes from cultivated beds beyond the living reef. Salvage crews recover storm-torn floats only after harbour records settle ownership. Taking an intact mooring would strand another household.
People and customs
Coastal residents with different bodies share broad waterside courts, shallow ramps and landing platforms.
At a quay, visitors wait for a local pilot before crossing a tidal channel. Keeping a landing clear matters more than arriving first.
Around the city
- Shell Tower — The curved civic landmark overlooks the reef and the channels through it.
- Tidal Promenade — A stepped waterfront walk that changes with the water level.
- Reef Market — Boat crews and shore traders meet where the sheltered canals widen.
- Outer Landing — A transfer quay where visitors leave deep-water craft and meet local pilots.
Proposed resources and trade
- Reef fibre — Cultivated rope fibre; harvest beds only, never the living reef.
- Pump-grade brine — Sealed industrial brine for cooling systems.
- Recovered float metal — Marked storm salvage cleared by the pilot cooperative.
Imports: Filter mesh, Metal fasteners
Quay Service Cradle
Salt cleaning, seal replacement and hull inspection; heavy structural work waits for a dry berth.
Proposed salvage and contracts
- A submerged relay case — Follow a licensed recovery lead after checking its owner.
- A torn navigation float — Recover the marked shell without removing a working channel marker.
- The missing tide book — Recover a pilot’s route record and choose whether to release a disputed channel warning publicly.
- Filters before flood — Carry pump filters from the landing to Reef Market; payment follows a verified delivery.
Future Plunderverse exploration
Trace a route from the outer landing through the canals, and help a pilot reach the market before the tide turns.
